Plain-language details on what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

Last updated June 10, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Numerbyte (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information across our website at numerbyte.com and our products, including PageHawk and Sourclip (together, the “Services”).

We’ve written this policy the way we’d want to read one — in plain language, without padding. If anything here is unclear, email us and we’ll explain it properly.

Information we collect

Numerbyte website.Browsing numerbyte.com doesn’t require an account, and we don’t collect personal information just to serve you the site. If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you choose to share.

PageHawk. PageHawk runs entirely inside your browser. The pages you analyze, the scores it calculates, and the reports it generates are processed locally on your device and are never sent to our servers.

Sourclip. On the free tier, everything you capture — sources, notebooks, folders, and prompts — stays in your browser’s local storage. If you create an account for cloud sync (a Pro feature), we store that content along with basic account details so it can follow you across devices:

  • Account information — email address and plan status.
  • Synced content — clipped sources, notebook and artifact folders, saved prompts, and export history.
  • Basic usage data needed to keep sync reliable, such as timestamps of the last successful sync.

Cookies & local storage

The Numerbyte website uses a minimal set of cookies and local storage entries required for it to function — for example, remembering your preferences between visits. We don’t use cookies for cross-site tracking or to build advertising profiles.

PageHawk and Sourclip use your browser’s local storage to save settings, captured content, and preferences on your device. For Sourclip, this also enables cloud sync when you’re signed in. If this changes for a future feature, we’ll update this section and ask for consent where required.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit our site and which pages are useful — things like page views, referring sites, device type, and country-level location. This data is anonymized or aggregated, is never linked to your identity, and is never sold or shared with advertisers.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the Services. Each is contractually limited to using data only to provide their service to us:

  • Hosting & infrastructure— our website and Sourclip’s cloud sync run on infrastructure providers that may process data on our behalf, under their own security commitments.
  • Payment processing — purchases of Sourclip Pro are handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Browser extension stores — PageHawk and Sourclip are distributed via the Chrome Web Store, which has its own privacy practices governing installation and updates.

How we use information

Any information we collect is used only to provide and maintain the Services, respond to support requests, improve reliability and performance, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, rent it to third parties, or use it for targeted advertising.

Data retention & security

We keep account and sync data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your Sourclip account, your synced data is permanently removed from our servers within a reasonable period.

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems — to protect any data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat data minimization as our first line of defense: the less we hold, the less there is to protect.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@numerbyte.com — we handle every request personally, usually within a few days.

Children's privacy

The Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

As Numerbyte grows, this policy may change. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, post a notice on our website. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
